Dowling Jack Hernandez is a Dominican American singer-songwriter and music producer originally from The Bronx, NY. He embraces his Caribbean roots and culture as he takes inspiration from artist he grew up listening to and adds his own twist with his unique sound. Taking influence from genres like Raggaeton, Bachata, Latin Urbano, R&B and even Hip Hop. Dowling can write a catchy hit all the while showcasing deep meaning through his (sometimes controversial)  lyrics. In doing so, he intends to break stereotypes and prototypes that the music industry has set for people of the LGBTQ+ community. Particularly male. As it is unheard of that a gay man in the industry can collaborate with a heterosexual male without having to "Adapt" or dedicate their lyrics towards a female. In "Rulay" Dowling's first single; he dedicates his part towards a man while Jhandre -the featured artist, dedicates his towards a female. It was important for Dowling that his part stay true to himself. Luckily, Jhandre had no problems helping bring the creative vision to life as he is more than confortable in his own sexuality. However, in the industry this is rare and often not the case. Dowling hopes that with time he can break the ice for the rest of the gays in the community and show that music is subjective and carries different meanings for different individuals.
